A young student shows his handiwork.

Earlier this year my wife and I contacted Ernie Garland and asked him to help us with the many aspects of gun ownership. Turns out that he was a very good choice.

Since safety is my first concern, he walked us through firearm safety then the actual handling of a gun.

At the range Ernie is great to work with: courteous, patient and had our best interest at heart. He spent a lot of time with the two of us at practice, but then went on to show us how to properly maintain our weapons; what to look for, clean and inspect our guns which is crucial in weaponry.

I highly recommend Ernie Garland for firearm instruction; one of the best in the area!

I found Ernie's class interesting, informative and definitely not a waste of time. Would recommend it to everyone.

Nice group!

Another satisfied student

Look at that!

Ernie is cheerful, extremely well-informed, and gives a lot of information that’s very useful in a relatively short period of time. I learned a lot and would recommend him to everyone. Karl M.

To Whom It May Concern:

I would like to give a Review and Evaluation of Ernie Garland’s performance as a NRA Certified Instructor for the NRA Range Safety Officer (RSO) course held on March 12, 2021 at the Volusia County Gun and Hunt Club.

First, I would like to “Qualify” myself as having the Credentials and Experience to make such Statements and Observations. From 1982 to 1995, I was the Training Officer in the various Military Units in which I served. In 1995, I became the Command Senior Chief at the Fleet Training Center, Firefight School, Mayport, FL. I had (65) High Risk Firefighting Instructors in my Command, their performance had to be Evaluated – Quarterly. Because of my rank, I received my Instructor Training from the Naval War College.

Ernie Garland’s performance at the RSO Course on March 12, 2021 was “Excellent”! He was smooth and confident in his presentation. Covering the assigned material thoroughly and clearly, making sure the students understood the course material and objectives. He kept the course interesting, and related “Real World Scenarios” and personal life experiences. He involved the students, making eye contact, inviting their participation and comments. His demeanor, appearance, and the way he held and conducted himself showed Confidence and Experience. He did an “Outstanding” performance that day. Ernie Garland is one of the “Best Instructors” I have seen. I would gladly attend any course that Ernie Garland was the Instructor.

Ernie Garland has my “Highest Professional Recommendation” as an “Excellent NRA Instructor”!!

Respectfully,
